It also alleged the agency\u2019s marijuana tracking and testing protocols are insufficient to identify bad actors and allow potentially dangerous products to reach cannabis consumers.<\/p>\n<p>A Denver Post investigation this spring found that gaps in testing oversight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2025\/04\/20\/colorado-marijuana-enforcement-testing-mold-yeast-pesticides\/\">allow contaminated weed products to make it to dispensary shelves<\/a>, despite the state\u2019s rigorous testing protocols.<\/p>\n<p>In an industry <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1sjiX6yyiWlPtgIti_DDWbXXjaeNX4O9U\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bulletin<\/a>, the Marijuana Enforcement Division said it remains dedicated to prioritizing consumer protections and preventing youth access, adding the agency will not tolerate businesses that deliberately disregard regulations to put youth and consumers at risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen there are concerns about bad actors and safety risks in the regulated market, a licensee\u2019s willingness to provide information is not something we take lightly,\u201d said Dominique Mendiola, senior director of the enforcement division, in the statement. \u201cThere are legal requirements we must follow to maintain the integrity and legality of our agency actions, so it\u2019s important to let investigations and due process take their course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.denverpost.com\/dp\/preference\">Get more Colorado news by signing up for our Mile High Roundup email newsletter.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Denver District Court this month dismissed a lawsuit against Colorado\u2019s Marijuana Enforcement Division that alleged the agency failed to protect consumers from contaminated products and ineffectively handled bad actors in the marketplace.
