Swire Coca-Cola, the Utah-based manufacturer and distributor, is canceling its plan to construct a 570,000-square-foot bottling plant at the northeast corner of Tower Road and Peña Boulevard near Denver International Airport.

“Unforeseen delays and ongoing timeline instability have severely impacted the viability and delivery of the project. As such, we will no longer pursue the originally proposed location for the development of a new production plant,” a company representative said in an emailed statement to The Post.

The company added that it still plans to make a significant regional investment in a new production facility at a different location, which is in the process of being identified.

The Denver City Council approved a $270.7 million, 75-year ground lease agreement with Swire in April 2023.

Construction at the Swire Coca-Cola facility was expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, with a planned grand opening in 2027, according to the project’s website.

“We are grateful to the individuals and organizations who came together to support the development of our new facility. We remain committed to Denver and the local community,” the company said.

“We employ 530 people at our distribution center in Central Park. We also support numerous local organizations across Denver including the Far Northeast and will continue to do so.”
